Occasionally, when I can have some spare time on my hands, I visit online discussion forums.
Marketing through forums is a great way - in it’s own right - to drive targeted traffic to your website but you have to be careful not to engage in mindless browsing through forum posts.
Aimlessly browsing from post to post will drain your time and leave you nothing to show for it. If you are going to use forums to promote your website then you need to make some posts in a forum targeted to your niche.
Now, that doesn’t mean that you spam the forums. This will get you banned quicker than you can imagine.
The idea is to make a positve contribution to the community by answering and asking pertinent questions.
Only posts your link in the signature file that most forums allow you to add to the end of each of your personal posts. If the forum management permit the use of html in the sig file then all the better. You should use this function to insert relevant anchor text leading to your website. The anchor text is the word or phrase that you use to create your link. Using this tactic will help increase your websites’ search engine ranking.
I find that helping others in the various internet marketing forums is the best way to raise your profile and send visitors to your sites. This is basically done through sharing your expertise with others.
Even if you are just starting off in this business you DO have your own experiences and can help others avoid going off in the wrong direction.

I have also sold a few offers on the forum above. Maybe you have a product or can offer services that others can pick up for a bargain. This is a great way to get the word out and make yourself more than a few dollars in the process.
