Email Marketing Hassles

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Do You Ever Get the Feeling that No One is Out There?

It’s becoming more and more frustrating trying to get my email marketing message delivered and that’s only the half of it.

Yesterday I had one email probem after another. I’ve been noticing lately that many of my php scripts run sites are half working or not working at all in sending out notifications to members. Well, the scripts are sending the messages but they just aint arriving at their destination.

My free shout box site has not been sending email verification notices since last september so I’ve lost out in about 150 memberships. A couple of my discussion forums are having the same issues too.

Then, an important friend and business associate of mine asks me if I got his email response to a proposition that I had sent him. Nothing had arrived, and even when I gave him two other different email addresses, gmail and a server based email, still nada. What da f*** is goin’ on?

With the current situation, the only time I can get messages delivered with any degree of certaintly is when I use instant messaging functions at forums and membership sites.

For instance, I own a niche market membership site and it is fantastic to send an instant message to all members and know for sure that the next time they log in to their membership they are going to get my message.

It’s got me wondering should I setup a membership site for business opportunity enhusiasts or internet marketing communities. The current membership site I have is a Myspace type system. Is there an interest in a Myspace for marketers, where they can add their own personal pics, interact, and promote their stuff too? I don’t know!

I know one thing. If somebody, somewhere doesn’t come up with a solution to the ongoing spam problems and email delivery, email is going to be dead. It isn’t looking too healthy as it is :???: .

    Email Marketing List Building

    Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Building a Profitable Email List is the Mainstay of Any Internet Marketing Business

I finally got to sit down and watch the first DVD in Mike Filsaimes’ 7 Figure Code product.

It’s definitely off to a promising start. In this first DVD Mike basically runs through what the course contains.

The recordings where taken at a $5000 per head seminar, so I think the $500 I invested will be well spent.

Anyway, one idea that Mike touched on was the fact that his whole business was built around collecting the first name and email of his web visitors.

If you look at the websites of any internet marketer there will ALWAYS be one or more opportunities for you to add your name and email - be it to receive a free course or to subscribe to their newsletter.

The point of this - from the marketers point of view - is to give them an opportunity to keep in contact with you and send you offers - to turn you into their customer at some point down the line. That’s it in it’s most basic form.

Now, of course there are many different strategies and tweaks you can impliment to make your email marketing campaign more powerful but the main idea is to get the email and build a list.

The 7 Figure Code is not an email marketing course. From what I gather from the first DVD, it is a course providing a structured plan to grow a successful internet business.

Click Here to find out more about the 7 figure code.

Mike and other top marketers will do this by showing us step by step how they built theirs, providing a detailed plan - including tools and resources

  • The fact that Mike tells us that his business starts and ends with email marketing, testifies how important it is to start building your own email list.

Email list marketing - building a targeted optin email list - is a crucial and very profitable aspect of any internet marketing business. That cannot be over-stated. It has all been said before ‘The Money is in the List’, ‘Your List is a Gold-Mine’ etc. etc..

No matter what market your business is in, you MUST collect your web visitors contact details. This is even more so in regards to customers. If you are not adding your customers details to a database then you are losing vast profits that can be got through repeat sales of your other products and the products and services of your partners.

    Automatic Responders (Autoresponders)

Following Up with Sequential Automatic Responders

Click Here for the Best Online Autoresponder Service!

If you’ve visited ANY website owned by internet marketers then you will have become familiar with the usual optin email form, urging and cajoling website visitors to add their email address, in return for a free ebook or e-course.

If you have ever taken the bait then you will have been added to this marketers email list which usually includes following up with regular emails.

What surprises me a lot is that many people on my list are not aware that when I follow up after they signup to my mailing list - the emails go out automatically.

It would be physically impossible to send so many emails to so many people. It certainly could not be done individually, given the size of some email lists - sometimes running into 100,000s. Mine is a modest 11,000 strong. Can you imagine having to email my subscribers individually, personalizing each one? Not a chance!

The truth is that I and other online business owners use autoresponders to send out regular email to our lists.

Autoresponders can be programmed to go out at set intervals and can also be personalized with the recipients name and other particulars - depending on the complexity of the website form from which they joined the list.

Getting an automatic responder is as simple as signing up for an online account. The difficult part is coming up with targeted and interesting information for those that join your mailing list.

Email courses are commonly used to sell products and services. For instance, if you sell widgets, you might develop a course that teaches people how to use widgets or how to care for their widget. Experts agree that an email course can be written for almost any product that you can imagine – if you put enough thought into it.

  • Once you have your course written you simply add the course to your automatic responder and set the intervals a few days apart. The initial email goes out immediately.

Once this is done you add a web form, usually provided by the autoresponder company, to your website to collect your website visitors name, and email.

Most automatic responder web services, or at least the best ones, provide a function that allows you to broadcast to your email list anytime you need to. This is useful to send out your current offers, recommendations, or rebates.

If you are serious about running a successful internet business then you must have an email response system in place. No self respecting internet marketer would be without one.

    Internet Marketing Newsletter Sample

Creating a Newsletter for ‘Your Ready to Buy’ Subscribers

I’ve spent the past couple of hours writing and formatting my home business newsletter(or ezines as they are more commonly known) to go out next week. Ezine is short for ‘Electronic Magazine’.

I have kept this newsletter going over the past couple of years but I must admit that it has been more off than on. The last issue was February. Just as well that it’s a free publication

I find that having an online newsletter is a great way to keep in touch with your subscribers. Ezines are also an effective way to sell your products or affiliate products and at the same time offer something of value to your readers. There is no hard sell, just weekly, monthly or bi-monthly recommendations.

It doesn’t have to be anything special - just a couple of articles with a note from yourself and maybe a link to a free download - Pus of course your product or affiliate links. Thats it!

It is also possible to sell advertising space from your newsletter although I find it is more profitable and less hassle to use the ad space myself rather than sell it on to third parties.

  • You can view my latest issue here on Tuesday. At the minute you will see February’s issue there, but it will give you an idea of what a newsletter can look like.

Of course, you could set one of these up for any niche. You only job is to find relevant, topical content and compile it.

I used to send this newsletter out via email but now I create a html and pdf version and just post out the link to these. I find that there is a much better chance that just a link or two rather than an entire newsletter will pass the spam filters.

So, if you have a list of eager subscribers there is no reason why you cannot start your own web newsletter today.
