Plugging Away During a Slowdown

Just a quick update to let you know what I’m up to…

I don’t know if you’ve heard a while ago about the Pips Powergroup. This is basically a mentor group for Plugin profit site owners that has been kept me quite busy lately answering forum questions and generally helping grow the business further through input in the staff end of our business.

I share in the revenue from the business so obviously it’s only fair that I try to put into this as much as I physically can. It isn’t easy but it’s a very worthwhile project and to me it has been a great success so far.

Due to the success of the mentor group we plan to open a new program in a few weeks time which will help newbie marketers make money in any niche. This opens our business to a much wider market and gives us - myself and the 5 other mentors - the opportunity to widen the scope of our mentoring.

You can find out more about that and keep up to date on it’s progress at the link below:

I think this is going to be a fantastic program with one on one mentoring for anyone wanting to set up their own home businesses. If that’s you, then go over there and have a look.

Besides the above I continue to post to my various blogs, post articles, and keep my niche sites ticking over.

I’m also recovering from yet another computer crash. Sent the laptop off to a repair shop a few days ago hoping they could recover my data after numerous failed attempts myself. Alas, no joy. The thing is kaput! So, I’m currently wiping the hard-drive to install a new versions of Windows.

Thankfully I had done a few backups to my external hard-drive but not as frequently as I should have been. :???:

It’s been very slow in terms of affiliate sales this past month or two but that’s to be expected in the summer months - with the economy in the U.S not helping things either.

Hoping for things to pick up come the beginning of september.

What is the Point of an Optin Email List?

What is the Point of an Optin Email List?

It has been often said in the world of ‘Internet Marketing’ that ‘the money is in the list’ and that ‘lists are a gold-mine’ but what are the reasons that internet and affiliate marketers put so much importance in building a list of optin subscribers?

There are a number of reasons why anyone who plans to be successful in this business should start from day one by collecting the names and email addresses of their website visitors. The most obvious one is that when you have a persons details in your database you can email them over and over again to send them back to your site - until they unsubscribe.

Most online marketers use an Autoresponder service like Aweber or Getresponse to send occasional broadcast emails to their readers. Or as an alternative they will setup a web script to collect and email their subscriber list. I personally use Getresponse.

Another reason for growing a list is to give you the opportunity to grow a relationship with your readers. One of the big reasons your web visitors don’t buy on their first visit to your site is because of a lack of trust. Whey prospects are added to your list then you have months and sometimes years to build up that trust, which will eventually lead to a sale.

Autoresponders will also allow you to personalize each email so that the reader - unless they are accustomed to how email marketing works - will feel that they are being emailed as an individual and not part of a wider group of people.

The most successful email marketers make the reader feel that they are being addressed individually even when they KNOW they are on a list. That’s the personal touch that every internet marketer strives to impliment into their business.

With an email list you don’t have to rely on big search engines like Google and Yahoo to send you traffic. You maintain control through owning your own list, sending them frequent tips, ideas and offers, and continually sending them back to your business website.

Sending frequent offers to a large list can yield a full-time income in and off itself. That’s apart from any direct sales made through a sales website.

Anyone who enters the internet marketing arena and is not already building a list of targeted email subscribers should make this a big priority. They are leaving a lot of money on the table by neglecting this very important aspect of doing business online.

How to Deal with Nasty Unsubscribers?

How to Deal with Nasty Unsubscribers?

This is an easy one, ignore them and make sure to remove them from all your email lists. Next please!

The last thing you want to do when faced with an irate email from one of your subscribers, who has likely forgotten they ever subscribed to your list, is to hit them back with an abusive or sarcastic response.

Try not to take it too personally. It’s likely that you just caught your reader at a bad time. They’ve had an argument with their spouse, have just sat down to grab some net time in order to keep their heads down, and here’s some a*****e internet marketer trying to sell them a $10 ebook

On my part it is impossible that someone could end up on my list unless they intended to be there. My subscription process is quite transparent where subscribers must verify via an optin verification email that they indeed wanted to signup.

So when I get such email - and they come fairly regularly - I’m quite confident that the subscriber simply forgot that they’d subscribed. It doesn’t help matter if you do not keep in frequent contact with your readers either

On other occasions you may get an angry email because they didn’t like what you had to offer. Again, rather than get into a debate I would rather just move on. If you have something to learn from their comments then by all means do so. Make the neccessary changes to your marketing followups if necessary but the damage is done as far as I’m concerned with this lost prospect.

When dealing with customers, which isn’t really a problem for me as I mostly sell affiliated products, it’s a completely different scenario. You may be able to retain a customer by offering a refund or rebate. So in this instance you may do well to get in touch to see what can be done.

Nasty unsubscribers are just a fact of life in doing business online. Don’t let it put you off. People can be sometimes even more abusive with the anonymity from hiding behind a P.C than they are face to face. Hard to believe but true.

In the meantime, keep sending those frequent followups and enjoy the sales that come from them

3 Proven Methods to Drive Traffic to Any Website in Any Niche

Most newcomers to the world of online marketing expect to discover secrets and shortcuts to building a successful internet business.

There’s no doubt that there are overnight successes in this business but they are not the norm. Most of us have worked long and hard to build our businesses. That common denominator is apparent in the vast majority of successful internet marketers.

Targeted traffic makes an online business and today I’m going to tell you the three most effective strategies that I am using today to keep the targeted visitors flowing.

1. Blogging - By blogging I simply mean maintaining an online blog with targeted content centred on my business. This includes frequent updates containing keyword rich phrases. When you are writing a blog on topic the relevant keyword phrases usually flow into the copy anyhow. So, no need to try too hard to make sure to include loads of search engine bait in your blog posts.

2. Social Book Marking - There are now countless social networking websites on the net as I write this. The most used and visited sites being, Delicious, Digg, and Technorati. From my perspective the main aim of using these social sites it to get high quality back links to my site. If you’ve been in this business for long you will know that getting keyword phrase laden backlinks to your web pages is one of the most important factors in gaining top search engine positions. Using social networks is a free, easy and effective way to do this.

So when you post a blog make sure to submit the blog post link to as many social bookmark sites as possible. This will require you to set-up free accounts at all the major social networking sites.

3.Article submissions - This strategy is used for much the same reasons as Social Bookmarking. That is, to build backlinks to your site. Links back to your blog or website are attained by including one or two links in your article author bio. As with social bookmarking you can also benefit from direct links from your articles. Normally, the number of visitors that click through to your site depends on the quality of your writing and the excitement instilled in your prospect.

These three methods of online marketing are basic ways to build and maintain any online business. The costs are low and the results are guaranteed. As soon as the web traffic starts arriving you are able to plug in numerous of your own products or affiliate services. Plugging in income streams is the topic of another article however.

What’s most amazing is that the methods above, when applied to any niche market, prove to result in powerful long and short term success.
